The iPhone 16 series is anticipated to make its debut in the latter half of this year, but recent rumors are already swirling about Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup. The purported iPhone 17 family is rumored to bring forth a revamped design, enhancements to the front-facing camera, and a downsized Dynamic Island, among other upgrades. Additionally, Apple may introduce a ‘Slim’ variant with the iPhone 17 series, potentially replacing the Plus version. It’s speculated that the iPhone 17 Pro models will be powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chip.
According to insights from Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research, as reported by 9to5Mac, the 2025 iPhone lineup is expected to comprise four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone Slim variant could supplant the traditional “Plus” model, boasting a sleeker design.
The base iPhone 17 is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Slim may sport a larger 6.6-inch screen. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are speculated to come with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively.
As per the report, all models in the iPhone 17 lineup—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, and iPhone 17 Pro—are expected to adopt an aluminum design with enhanced complexity. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max could boast a titanium build and a more compact Dynamic Island.
Regarding performance, the regular iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim could run on either an A18 or A19 chip, with support for 8GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max might be equipped with an A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM, representing a significant upgrade over current iPhone models.
