We’re still several months away from the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, but a fresh rumor has surfaced. According to a source on X, the S25 Ultra is speculated to feature three rear cameras, a reduction from its predecessor’s four.
Reportedly, the omitted camera is the 10 MP 3x optical zoom telephoto. Instead, Samsung aims to showcase the S25 Ultra’s main camera’s capability to deliver 3x zoom shots, possibly surpassing a dedicated unit with enhanced image processing.
As per rumors, the main camera of the S25 Ultra is anticipated to maintain the same resolution and sensor size as the S24 Ultra. However, advancements in light capture are expected. The ultrawide lens, currently in the prototype phase, appears unchanged.
Testing suggests that the periscope zoom camera of the S25 Ultra may offer variable zoom with two fixed focal lengths: the first between 4x and 5x, and the second between 6x and 7x. Although Samsung has yet to finalize the exact focal lengths, there will be two options available, differing from a continuously variable zoom like that seen in the Sony Xperia 1 V.
