Meta Platforms (META.O) is reportedly exploring the integration of its AI model into Apple’s (AAPL.O) newly announced iPhone AI system, according to a Wall Street Journal report on Sunday.
Apple, meanwhile, is planning to incorporate technologies from various AI firms into its devices, including potential collaborations with Alphabet’s (GOOGL.O) Google. Discussions with AI startup Anthropic suggest Apple’s interest in expanding its AI capabilities through partnerships. However, details on financial implications remain undisclosed.
Both Meta and Anthropic declined to comment, with no immediate response from Apple. The reported discussions, aimed at enhancing AI product distribution, may not finalize.
Additionally, AI search startup Perplexity has engaged with Apple regarding integrating its generative AI into Apple Intelligence, a Reuters source disclosed.
Apple recently unveiled its AI strategy, emphasizing privacy as a pivotal feature across apps and Siri, while integrating ChatGPT into its ecosystem, setting itself apart from competitors Microsoft and Google.
