Similar to Qi2 charging, Bluetooth Auracast was another tech standard that had its breakthrough moment at CES 2024. After experiencing Auracast at CES, we were so impressed that we concluded, “it’ll change our relationship with headphones.”
Why is that? Auracast’s key feature is its ability to allow compatible headphones to connect to devices without pairing. This capability will soon provide a variety of benefits – from tuning into gate announcements at the airport to avoid missing your flight to listening to the TV in a sports bar.
Another advantage of Auracast is its ability to broadcast to multiple devices simultaneously. This feature enables a co-worker to quickly share audio from their Windows laptop or iPhone (with a password to prevent random listeners) or allows those with hearing aids to easily tune into a public speaking event. While hardware support for Auracast is currently limited, expect to hear much more about it in 2024.
