Huawei, the Chinese tech giant (HWT.UL), has opened registrations for an upcoming smartphone model, generating excitement for its latest addition to the high-end P series. Last year, the company reentered the premium smartphone market with the Mate 60 series, a move celebrated by state media for overcoming U.S. sanctions and impacting Apple’s (AAPL. O) iPhone sales in China.
Speculation suggests the imminent release of the P70, expected to feature a domestically produced chip similar to the Mate 60. Known for its innovative cameras and elegant design, the P series offers a contrast to the high-performance, business-oriented Mate series. While a recent product launch focused on smart car models and laptops, omitting mention of phones, interested buyers can now register for updates on the upcoming smartphone model without a deposit at Huawei stores in Beijing.
