HMD is gearing up to introduce its own-branded smartphone in India, dubbed the HMD Arrow. This device will mark a fresh addition to their lineup, boasting 5G connectivity and significantly enhanced specifications compared to the Pulse series, according to insider information.
Initial speculation suggested that the Arrow might be a rebranded Pulse model, possibly in Pink, following a collaboration with the Rajasthan Royals cricket team. However, HMD India confirmed the Arrow name through social media X.
Reports from The Mobile Indian indicate that the Arrow will feature a “new design” and “upgraded specifications.” Positioned as a mid-range offering, it is anticipated to be priced below INR 20,000 (approximately $235/€220) upon its anticipated launch in early June.
Additionally, sources indicate that the demand for affordable 5G-enabled smartphones in India is on the rise, prompting HMD to target this segment of the market. Currently, 5G adoption stands at 15%, with nearly 160 million users, and both Reliance Jio and Airtel networks are progressively improving their speeds.
