Google lays off at least 100 employees from its cloud division, CNBC reports.

Alphabet-owned Google (GOOGL.O) is laying off at least 100 employees from various teams within its cloud unit, according to a report by CNBC on Monday. The affected positions include roles in sales, operations, engineering, consulting, and “go to market” strategy, as indicated by internal communications.

“We continue to evolve our business to meet our customers’ priorities and the significant opportunity ahead,” a Google spokesperson stated in an email to Reuters. “We maintain our commitment to investing in areas that are critical to our business and ensure our long-term success.”

This report follows previous layoffs by the California-based tech giant, which reduced its workforce across different teams in April as part of cost-cutting measures. Additionally, Google laid off hundreds of employees in January, amidst a wave of job cuts in the tech and media

industry, as companies contend with economic uncertainty.
